About Ian Pepin – Freelance Web Designer and Remote Worker

Hello! My name is Ian Pepin, a French Canadian freelance web designer currently living in Peru. My passion for creativity and technology has taken me on an exciting journey through computer science and American cinema, fields I’ve studied extensively and continue to draw inspiration from.

My Professional Background

As a remote worker, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of companies, each project allowing me to learn something new and explore different industries. One of my favorite projects involved designing an interactive website for a local non-profit, which not only enhanced their online presence but also deepened my understanding of social impact through design. Web design is my core focus, but I’m always expanding my skill set, embracing opportunities to innovate and create digital experiences that make a difference. Recently, I explored artificial intelligence, particularly in emotion and facial recognition, which has been an exciting frontier for me.

Passions and Interests

I’m passionate about creativity, science, and all things tech-related. Living in South America has made life easier for me, allowing me to pursue my hobbies, such as enjoying coffee and exploring the beauty of old cars, especially VW Beetles. I love riding motorcycles year-round, which is plentiful here in Peru. Outside of web design, I also enjoy photography and exploring the vibrant landscapes, which often inspires my work. I’m always on the lookout for new trends and love diving into projects that challenge me to think outside the box. Whether it’s building a unique website or staying updated on the latest in web development, my curiosity keeps me moving forward.

Community Involvement

Traveling through Peru with just a backpack has given me a deeper understanding of the local culture and the way people live here. This experience has opened my eyes to the complexities of different governments and societies, enriching my perspective and informing my work.

Why I Joined Team Integrity

I joined Team Integrity because I wanted to explore something new and fill my time productively between freelance contracts. The flexibility of working remotely allows me to balance my freelance work with my involvement in Team Integrity. It’s been a great way to stay active in the digital space while pursuing new opportunities.

My Journey So Far

My journey started in Canada, but I’ve been living in Peru for some time now, enjoying the blend of cultures and experiences. I look forward to traveling through Europe and Asia in the coming years, not just for leisure but also to collaborate with global clients and broaden my professional network. I don’t plan on returning to Canada for several more years as I continue my travels, excited to expand both my personal and professional horizons.

What I Love About My Work

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the chance to learn about different companies with each new website I create. I particularly enjoy using tools like WordPress and JavaScript, allowing me to bring innovative ideas to life. It’s a fulfilling way to understand diverse industries and stay engaged with my creative and professional development.

Future Goals

Looking ahead, I see myself traveling more, connecting with global clients, and continuing to develop my skills as a web designer and remote worker. Whenever I can, I strive to change things for the better, whether in my work or my community. My goal is to master new programming languages and integrate cutting-edge technologies into my projects, while also expanding my portfolio with exciting new challenges.
